Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica said the incident, which happened early on Tuesday morning, was an attack on Serbia and added that all measures would be taken in the shortest possible time to bring to justice those responsible for it.
The president of the Vojvodina Executive Council, Bojan Pajtic, said that the obligation of all bodies of authority was to protect minorities in Serbia.
The attack was condemned by all Serbian parties. The Belgrade-based Radio B92 reported that the Social Democratic Union (SDU) warned that the attack came shortly after Kasza was accused in the Serbian parliament of "criminal activities and of breaking up Serbia's unity".
