Speaking to Hina, Puhovski said he was only helping people who had asked for his help because they did not trust state institutions to start trusting them.
Puhovski said he would be "the first to scream if Glavas is accused on the basis of how things are at the moment".
Glavas, a former member of the ruling Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) and leader of the Movement for Slavonia and Baranja, told the press yesterday Puhovski was not interested in who killed civilians in Osijek in the early 1990s, but only in finding documents and witnesses which would accuse Glavas of the crimes.
Glavas also criticised Puhovski, in his capacity as head of a human rights organisation, of not "defending a man who hasn't even been charged, yet some media have already sentenced me". He reiterated he was a victim of a political and media campaign aimed at proclaiming him guilty of the killings at all costs.
