BANJA LUKA, July 19 (Hina) - Only a day after members of the joint
commission for defence reform in Bosnia signed a declaration on future laws
abolishing entity defence ministries and conscription and establishing a
professional army, posters reading "Enough of Betrayal and Unitarisation. We
Opt for Free Srpska!" appeared in Banja Luka on Tuesday. Instead of
a signature, the posters have an Internet address at which several petitions
can be signed. One petition is for calling a referendum on the discontinuation
of the transfer of the authority of Republika Srpska to joint Bosnian
institutions, another is for the withdrawal of its representatives from joint
bodies, and the third one is for the replacement of the international
community' High Representative in Bosnia, Paddy Ashdown.
Also requested is a referendum on the separation of Republika Srpska
from Bosnia-Herzegovina unless these requests are met.
