The fourth annual Gay Pride parade of LGBTTIQ (lesbian, gay, transsexual, transgendered, intersexed, queer) segments of population took place in the Zrinjevac park, downtown Zagreb.
The participants in the parade, organised this year by the Epikriza feminist group, called or the passage of a law which would regulate the registration of partnerships of homosexuals.
Present at the parade was the head of the Croatian government's gender equality office, Helena Stimac Radin, and the organisers said that they had received the support of Zagreb Mayor Milan Bandic in writing.
According to the Croatian Television, over a hundred police officers and security guards were engaged to ensure security. The entire event passed without any serious incident, only some citizens who are against the gay campaign booed or hurled insults at the participants in the parade.
