The coalition of the Social Democratic Party and the Croatian People's Army (SDP-HNS), which has a majority in the Sibenik City Council, won 19 percent of seats in local councils, while the Croatian Party of Rights (HSP) captured 16.03 percent.
The elections were held at 79 polling stations for 330 representatives in local councils, and 22.16 percent of registered voters went to the polls. The highest turnout of 75 percent was registered in the residential area of Perkovic and the lowest of 10.6 percent in Danilo.
According to the 2001 census, Sibenik has a population of 51,553.
