After the meeting, Sanader said that the Austrian Chancellor believed that the European Union would not be complete without Croatia, and added that Austria's support was especially important given that it would take over the presidency over the Union on 1 January 2006.
Asked by reporters about Austria's arguments for the next session of the EU task force, set up to assess Croatia's cooperation with the UN war crimes tribunal, Schuessel said that the action plan of the Croatian government aimed at resolving the remaining outstanding issue between Zagreb and the UN war crimes tribunal had been an efficient instrument for proving the cooperation.
