Dauti said on Friday that the decision of the UN Secretary General Kofi Annan to appoint a special envoy who would carry out a thorough review of the implementation of the standards was "the evidence that the start of discussions on Kosovo's final status is in the offing".
The chairman of the community of Serb-populated municipalities in Kosovo, Marko Jaksic, criticised a statement which UN Administrator in Kosovo, Soeren Jessen-Petersen, gave at the Security Council's session, saying that it was an embellished report with pro-Albanian positions, which failed to give contribution to the solution of problems in the province.
