Ambassador Monzonis-Vilallonga is a Spanish diplomat specialised in the OSCE, multilateral diplomacy, East-West relations and Central and Eastern European affairs.
He served as Spanish ambassador to Bulgaria, and gained great experience in European affairs as Spain's permanent representative to the Western European Union. The last post he held was that of ambassador-at-large for European integration at the Spanish Foreign Ministry.
During his first weeks in Croatia, the new OSCE Mission chief is due to meet President Stjepan Mesic, Prime Minister Ivo Sanader, Parliament Speaker Vladimir Seks and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic.
Ambassador Monzonis-Vilallonga succeeded Peter Semneby, who led the OSCE Mission from January 2002 to April 2005.
