Wreaths were laid by Bulgarian Ambassador to Zagreb Viktor Vlkov, Bulgarian Consul to Sarajevo Rosica Kamenova, Vukovar Mayor Vladimir Stengl, and representatives of the Croatian and Bulgarian defence ministries.
The remains of 1,207 Bulgarian soldiers and officers are buried in Vukovar. They were killed in the area in the final operations of the Second World War.
Also present at the wreath-laying ceremony were military envoys accredited in Croatia and representatives of the national association of Bulgarians in Croatia.
