The trial chamber chaired by Judge Amin el Mahdi found Beqaj guilty of the first count of the indictment referring to his intentional exerting influence on the witness B-1 in the trial of Beqaj's cousin Isak Musliu, and another two Kosovo Albanians Fatmir Limaj and Haradinaj Bala, which means that the indictee interfered with a witness.
The second count of his indictment referring to attempted contempt of the tribunal was dismissed and the 52-year old Beqaj was found not guilty of the third count as the chamber found "no evidence which establishes beyond reasonable doubt that the accused wilfully and knowingly incited contempt of court".
The tribunal decided to release him immediately as he had spent about five months in the tribunal's custody.
