ZAGREB, April 27 (Hina) - Croatia's Health and Social Welfare Ministryand Finland's Agriculture and Forestry Ministry on Wednesday presenteda twinning project on the strengthening of sanitary inspection, whichwill be carried our over
an 18-month period, starting from Februarythis year.
ZAGREB, April 27 (Hina) - Croatia's Health and Social Welfare
Ministry and Finland's Agriculture and Forestry Ministry on Wednesday presented
a twinning project on the strengthening of sanitary inspection, which will be
carried our over an 18-month period, starting from February this year. The project is financed with 525,000 euros as part of the CARDS 2002
programme. Its purpose is to strengthen the Croatian sanitary control system
and help it develop in line with EU legislation and the best European
practice.
The project will be carried out by Croatia's Health Ministry, Health
Insurance Institute and Food Agency.
Presenting the project on behalf of the European Commission Delegation
in Croatia, its second secretary, Constantino Longares-Barrio, said that food
trade in the EU could be carried out only under safe conditions.
