Reporters were told the conference was being held in Croatia in recognition of the increasingly better organisation and protection of copyrights in Croatia.
Council chairman Peter Gyertyanfy said the situation in Croatia was better than in similar countries, although figures were not that good when compared to Western Europe.
CISAC comprises about 200 societies from 108 countries.
Participants are discussing current issues in the copyright protection system, copyright protection in the digital environment, discography in Europe, and possibilities of regional cooperation.
