SKABRNJA, April 9 (Hina) - Representatives of Rotary Clubs from
Zagreb and Oslo presented in Skabrnja on Saturday scholarships for six
children who were injured in explosions of land mines left behind after the
1990s Homeland War in Croatia. In attendance was Norwegian
Ambassador Knut Torasen, who said his government had a special fund for
humanitarian mine clearance. Only last year, Croatia received more than 20
million kuna for that purpose from the Norwegian government.
The Zagreb and Oslo Rotary Clubs raised 200,000 kuna for the six
children, who will receive the money over the next two years.
