After meeting Bosnian Prime Minister Adnan Terzic, Rehn said he hoped the European Commission would be able to recommend the launching of the talks at the next meeting of the consultative working group in May.
Before a positive recommendation is given, the country must meet two crucial conditions - it must continue cooperation with the tribunal and make significant progress to achieve full cooperation, as well as reform its police forces in line with professional and not political standards, Rehn said.
Terzic reiterated his recent statement that there were no more Hague tribunal indictees on the territory of Bosnia-Herzegovina.
