The event will start with the film "Petites miseres" in Zagreb's "Tuskanac" movie theatre on March 16 and continue with week-long literary, theatre and art events, it was said at a news conference in Zagreb on Thursday.
The term "francophony" denotes countries which share the use of the French language, French Ambassador Francois Saint-Paul said at the news conference.
Croatian Assistant Foreign Minister Drazen Margeta said the ministry supported the event as well as the promotion of the French language in Croatia.
The Week of Francophony, which is organised by the embassies of member countries and observers in the International Organisation for Francophony which are based in Zagreb, has also been supported by the ambassadors of Belgium and Canada.
