The chairwoman of the group, which includes seven ministers, is Deputy Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor.
Speaking at today's government session, Prime Minister Ivo Sanader said that, had it not been for Flash, Storm and other liberating operations, Croatia today would not be on the threshold of entering the European Union.
He said that the 1995 military and police operations paved the way for the peaceful reintegration of the eastern Croatian area in the Danube basin, which was completed a few years later.
Sanader thanked all who gave their lives, disabled war veterans and all other participants in the operations for their contribution.
During Operation Flash, which was carried out at the start of May 1995, and Storm, which was carried out three months later, Croatia liberated a great part of its territory which until then was held by rebel Serbs.
