This year's event was dedicated to the 1700th anniversary of the southern city of Split, the 555th anniversary of the birth of Marko Marulic, the father of Croatian literature, the fifth anniversary of the unveiling of his monument in Berlin, and the 300th anniversary of Berlin's municipality Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf, which has had friendly relations with Split for 35 years.
The event was attended, among others, by Croatia's Ambassador to Berlin, Vesna Cvjetkovic Kurelec, the Croatian Consul-General in Hamburg, Zarko Plevnik, and representatives of the Slovene community in Berlin. A special guest at the event was the mayor of the Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf municipality, Monica Tiemen.
