ZAGREB, Feb 18 (Hina) - European institutions are ready and technicallyprepared for the start of negotiations with Croatia, the EuropeanCommission Vice-President and Home Affairs Commissioner, FrancoFrattini, said during his talks
with Croatian President Stjepan Mesicin Zagreb on Friday, Mesic's Office said in a statement.
ZAGREB, Feb 18 (Hina) - European institutions are ready and
technically prepared for the start of negotiations with Croatia, the European
Commission Vice-President and Home Affairs Commissioner, Franco Frattini, said
during his talks with Croatian President Stjepan Mesic in Zagreb on Friday,
Mesic's Office said in a statement.Frattini also stressed it was important to resolve the only remaining
outstanding political issue in Croatia's cooperation with the International
Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, which is important not only for
Croatia but for the entire region, the statement said.
Frattini attended the inaugural ceremony of President Mesic for his
second term in office. He also held talks with Prime Minister Ivo Sanader.
