ZAGREB, Feb 1 (Hina) - The head of the Russian Duma defence affairscommittee, Viktor Zavarzin, visited the Croatian Parliament on Tuesdayand held talks with the chairman of the parliamentary Committee onHome Affairs and National
Security, Ivan Jarnjak, the parliament'spublic relations office said in a statement.
ZAGREB, Feb 1 (Hina) - The head of the Russian Duma defence affairs
committee, Viktor Zavarzin, visited the Croatian Parliament on Tuesday and held
talks with the chairman of the parliamentary Committee on Home Affairs and
National Security, Ivan Jarnjak, the parliament's public relations office said
in a statement.The two officials exchanged information on the work of the two
committees and decided it was necessary to establish inter-parliamentary
cooperation, the statement said.
Zavarzin said that Russia was currently in the process of adopting a law
on combating terrorism. Jarnjak informed his guest about a seminar on global
terrorism which will be held in the Croatian Parliament in the near future.
The talks also focused on military and technical cooperation and
military reform. Zavarzin stressed that Croatia's efforts to join NATO and the
EU should not stand in the way of maintaining good relations with Russia.
