Nineteen Serbs and Albanians were killed in the clashes, hundreds were wounded and enormous damage was caused, notably to Serb houses and religious buildings.
The six Albanians will answer, before a panel of judges comprised of two international and four Kosovo judges, for killing Serb Slobodan Peric and causing serious bodily harm to his mother Anka Peric, who subsequently succumbed to the injuries.
The indictment also accuses them of having been members of a criminal gang.
Nearly 260 persons have been arrested in Kosovo to date for participation in violence which last year took place in a greater part of Kosovo.
