According to a press release issued by the Culture Ministry on Thursday, the talks which the two sides held in Brussels, revolved around conditions and tasks which Croatia must carry out to participate in the two programmes and receive funds envisaged by both programmes.
The Culture 2000 programme (2000-2006) is aimed at encouraging the creativity and mobility of artists, public access to culture, the dissemination of art and culture, inter-cultural dialogue and knowledge of the history and cultural heritage of the peoples of Europe.
The Media Programme, which entered into force in January 2001, deals with the training of professionals; the development of production projects and companies; the distribution and promotion of cinematographic works and audiovisual programmes; and support for cinematographic festivals.
The Croatian delegation also held talks with Xavier Troussard, a European Commission member involved in negotiations on the adoption of a cultural diversity convention.
