Skare-Ozbolt said that her party expected the same kind of cooperation from the HDZ in the future when the DC nominates its candidates.
Commenting on the first round of voting that took place on January 2, Skare-Ozbolt criticised a lack of clear views and platforms and an abundance of candidates.
She added that the election law should be changed after the second round, proposing that the number of signatures required for presidential nominations should be increased from the current 10,000 to at least 50,000, that reports on campaign funding should be submitted at the beginning of a campaign rather than at its end, that the 48-hour electioneering ban should be abolished, and that there should be clear rules of media coverage of candidates.
The DC leader welcomed the announced government reshuffle, saying that the government was facing huge challenges and that it should be capable of working round the clock.
Skare-Ozbolt indirectly dismissed speculation that her party might win one more ministerial post in the government reshuffle. "The DC is very realistic," she said, adding that the party had a lot of efficient people and that it could propose the best of them for state administration posts.
