"The Consul General did not speak, let alone agree to the need to establish special relations between Republika Srpska and Croatia, as stated for the media by the Office of the Republika Srpska President. Croatia has regulated its relations with Bosnia-Herzegovina at the level of central institutions of the friendly neighbouring countries," Consul General Miroslav Bulicic said in a statement carried on Sunday by the local paper "Nezavisne novine".
The statement read that Jelic and Bulicic also discussed economic and cultural relations.
Jelic's office said in a statement after the meeting on Friday that Jelic had informed Bulicic about the content of an agreement on special and parallel relations between the Serb entity and Serbia, saying that Republika Srpska was interested in signing a similar agreement with Croatia, a proposal which the office said was supported by the Croatian consul.
