ZAGREB, Nov 26 (Hina) - Doctors and the clergy are considered the most trustworthy professions in Croatia, while politicians, business managers and judicial officials are perceived as least trustworthy, according to a survey conducted by the market research agency GfK in November.

The survey, which investigated how much people trust individual professions and institutions, shows that Croatia is no exception and that respondents in other countries covered by the survey perceive politicians as least trustworthy as well, GfK Croatia said last week.

The survey, covering Croatia and 19 other European countries and the United States, shows that Greeks and Italians are particularly unhappy with politicians, while Swiss and Dutch politicians enjoy much more trust.

On average, business managers and journalists are equally distrusted in all surveyed countries.

Business managers have the best trust ratings in Denmark and the worst in Germany, Greece, Poland and Italy.

Many Europeans and Americans do not trust journalists, with Italians and Britons being least trustful.

Croatians, just like Swedes and the Finnish, place most trust in doctors and they have graded them with 3.2 on a scale of 1 to 5.

The clergy too is considered trustworthy and was ranked second, followed by the army, which Croatians trust more than they trust teachers.

GfK describes itself as one of the leading international market research institutes, with more than 120 offices in over 90 countries.
