PLITVICKA JEZERA, Oct 23 (Hina) - The chiefs of staff of the armed forces of Croatia, Albania and Macedonia, members of the U.S.-Adriatic Charter gathering NATO aspirants, held the fifth working conference on the continuation of their
respective military development and on strengthening cooperation in the defence sector.
PLITVICKA JEZERA, Oct 23 (Hina) - The chiefs of staff of the armed
forces of Croatia, Albania and Macedonia, members of the U.S.-Adriatic Charter
gathering NATO aspirants, held the fifth working conference on the
continuation of their respective military development and on strengthening
cooperation in the defence sector. According to a joint statement
signed by Croatia's Josip Lucic, Albania's Luan Hoxha, and Macedonia's Miroslav
Stiojanovski, who met at Croatia's Plitvice Lakes, they agree to share
experiences they have acquired in the implementation of reforms and in
international peace missions also with other countries in southeastern
Europe.
The signatories exchanged experience in the processes of the
modernisation of their armies on the road towards NATO membership.
They expressed satisfaction with the successful rotation of combined
medical teams in the NATO-led ISAF mission in Afghanistan.
The next meeting is scheduled for April 2007 in Albania.
