MOSTAR, Oct 5 (Hina) - The Presidency of the Croatian Democratic Union of Bosnia and Herzegovina (HDZ BiH) decided at a session in Mostar on Thursday evening to call on Zeljko Komsic, the candidate of the Social Democratic Party who had been elected as Croatian member of the tripartite Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina at Sunday's general election, to resign from that post.

"We call on Zeljko Komsic, who himself has said that he is not a Croatian member of the BiH Presidency, that he is not a Catholic beliver and that he does not speak the Croatian language, to resign, as a moral act, from a post that belongs to the Croatian people," the HDZ BiH Presidency said in a statement issued after the session.

The statement said that by voting for Komsic the Bosniaks "used their well-known numerical superiority to prevent the Croats from choosing their own representative on the BiH Presidency."

The HDZ BiH Presidency said that the whole election process was unfair and that as such it "resulted in two representatives of the Bosniak people being elected on the BiH Presidency and no representative of the Croatian people."
