NEW YORK, Sept 23 (Hina) - The Croatian Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic, attended a working meeting on the strengthening of the role of women in society, which was held on the margins of
the 61st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York's Waldorf Astoria Hotel on Saturday.
NEW YORK, Sept 23 (Hina) - The Croatian Minister of Foreign
Affairs and European Integration, Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic, attended a working
meeting on the strengthening of the role of women in society, which was held on
the margins of the 61st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New
York's Waldorf Astoria Hotel on Saturday. The meeting of the Women's
Empowerment initiative, organised on the initiative of US Secretary of State
Condoleezza Rice, was attended by about 20 women ministers of foreign
affairs.
Grabar-Kitarovic was one of the four ministers to deliver a keynote
speech, in which she focused on Croatia's experience on the subject.
In her opening remarks, Rice said that the US administration supported
the strengthening of the role of women in the world, a better education,
investment in health care and the inclusion of women in social life, public
services, politics and diplomacy, and in creating a modern society.
