ZAGREB, Sept 19 (Hina) - Advisors with the Croatian government have presented the government with a plan on the restructure of the shipbuilding industry worth six billion kuna, Deputy Prime Minister Damir Polancec said on Tuesday.

The plan was presented to the government on Tuesday and some dilemmas from the plan will be intensively dealt with next week, Polancec said at the Economic Forum, a traditional meeting of government members and business people at the Zagreb International Autumn Trade Fair.

Before it adopts the plan, the government will negotiate with the European Commission about a transitional period to adjust the level and type of shipbuilding subsidies to European standards.

The shipbuilding industry could be adjusted to European criteria by 2015 at the latest, Polancec said, adding that the privatisation of the "Uljanik" shipyard from Pula could start this year.

Polancec, who was speaking about the government's economic policy, said that the International Monetary Fund was expected to present a positive report on Croatia in the next few days.

He went on to say that the government would soon propose a new bill on privatisation, envisaging a new concept of employee stock ownership plan.

Speaking about next year's tax policy, he announced a model under which companies would pay more taxes to the authorities in areas where they earn revenue and profit, rather than paying taxes according to the place of their headquarters.

Answering questions by business people, Polancec said that he did not expect any negative consequences of the expansion of the Central European Free Trade Agreement (CEFTA), but rather a possibility for exporters to enter the markets of the expanded CEFTA.

Croatia's economy must be ready to face the competition from the East, insisting at the same time on high quality standards, Croatian Chamber of Economy chief Nadan Vidosevic said.

Economy Minister Branko Vukelic announced for next year a project enabling business people to obtain loans of up to 25,000 euros with the minimum of necessary documents, and an export offensive.
