The explanatory screening is held to acquaint candidate countries with the European Union legislation in a given area.
Today and tomorrow European Commission officials will speak about the EU acquis communautaire for the chapter on regional policy and coordination of structural elements with regard to the legislation and institutional capabilities and administrative capacity to implement regional policy and use the EU structural instruments, the ministry said.
The second, bilateral stage of screening for the chapter on regional policy and coordination of structural instruments will be held on October 5 and 6, when Croatian officials will speak about what has been done so far to adjust national legislation with that of the EU in this field.
