ZAGREB, Sept 7 (Hina) - The Croatian government on Thursday proposed adopting legislation regulating the transfer of authority on the local level that would bind the outgoing executive authorities after the next local elections to submit to the incoming municipal heads, mayors and prefects, elected directly in the elections, a report on the situation and problems in the area from within their jurisdiction.

Under the amendments to the Law on the Transfer of Authority, the outgoing local authorities would also have to inform the newly-elected authorities about the obligations which they had assumed but not met by the date of the transfer of authority.

This is yet another law which is part of the anti-corruption strategy, PM Ivo Sanader said, adding that the government would send a bill on the financing of political parties to the parliament this month.

The government also amended a protocol defining the procedure in case of domestic violence to enable courts to act promptly in making rulings related to the family law in order to stop the exposure of children to domestic violence.

The government set aside 22 million kuna for this year's programme of assistance to Bosnian Croat refugees returning to their prewar homes and gave a positive opinion on a number of reports.

It relieved Renato Cobal of duties as national coordinator for the Stability Pact for Southeastern Europe and appointed Boris Grigic to that post and to the post of assistant coordinator of the Southeast European Cooperation Process (SEECP) initiative.
