Audience award at Sarajevo Film Festival goes to The Road to Guantanamo

SARAJEVO, Aug 28 (Hina) - The British film "The Road to Guantanamo" was chosen by the audience as the best film at this year's 12th Sarajevo Film Festival. The event, that featured 170 films from 41 countries and was visited by 100,000 people, ended on Sunday evening with an audience-award-giving ceremony.

The event, that featured 170 films from 41 countries and was visited by 100,000 people, ended on Sunday evening with an audience-award-giving ceremony.

The Bosnian documentary "Karneval" ("Carnival)" was the second best movie at the festival, according to the audience.

The documentary entitled featured "Vukovar - Poslednji Rez" ("Vukovar - Final Cut)", by Serbian author Janko Baljak and Croatian journalist Drago Hedl, won the Human Rights Award. The financial award provided by The Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs is 3.000 euros.

On Saturday, the jury, presided by Jasmila Zbanic, announced that "Heart of Sarajevo for Best Film" went to "Das Freuleiln" ("Miss" ) by Andreja Staka, a Bosnian living in Switzerland.

Croatian actors Rakan Rushaidat and Marija Skaricic won the best male and female performance awards at the Sarajevo Film Festival

Rushaidat played a role in the film "Sve dzaba" ("All for Free") by Antonio Nuic and Skaricic had a role in the film "Miss"

"Sto sa sobom preko dana" (Facing the Day) by Ivona Juka of Croatia won the best documentary film award.
