BELGRADE, Aug 17 (Hina) - The Hague-based International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) confirmed on Thursday it had received a letter from Marko Milosevic in which he challenged the results of the court investigation into the death of his father, Slobodan Milosevic, who died in March in his cell in the ICTY detention unit while on trial for war crimes and genocide committed during the 1990s wars, Belgrade electronic media reported.

We have received a letter from Marko Milosevic, but we have no comment, because the Milosevic case is closed. It is worth recalling that Marko Milosevic met members of the team that conducted the investigation into the death of Slobodan Milosevic and that he had an opportunity then to say everything he had to say, ICTY spokesman Christian Chartier said.

The investigation led by Judge Kevin Parker showed that Slobodan Milosevic had died of natural causes, notably of a heart attack, and that he had had appropriate medical care in the ICTY detention unit, but that he had been taking unprescribed medicines.

According to the Belgrade-based Vecernje Novosti newspaper, Marko Milosevic "accused the tribunal of condemning his father to death when towards the end of February it rejected his request for release to undergo medical treatment in Moscow."

The newspaper quoted the letter as saying that "the report by Judge Parker is full of contradictions" and that "its content and conclusions are completely unacceptable to common sense."
