ZAGREB, July 25 (Hina) - The Zagreb Municipal Prosecutor's Office has requested the police to find out who breached the secrecy of proceedings after Vecernji List daily on Tuesday published part of a secret witness testimony in a war crimes investigation against member of parliament Branimir Glavas.

The Office recalled that the Zagreb County Court investigating judge bound to secrecy about witness testimonies the persons who attended the July 20 hearing.

The Office said the Vecernji List article headlined "Glavas Won't Be Placed in Custody" carried parts of testimonies by witnesses questioned after the secrecy decision was made.

The newspaper published parts of testimonies by wartime general Karl Gorinsek and Colonel Ivan Grujic. They were examined on July 20 as part of an investigation against Glavas and Krunoslav Fehir, who are suspected of war crimes committed in the eastern city of Osijek in 1991.

Also today, the Interior Ministry dismissed Glavas's recent accusations that Osijek County police chief Vladimir Faber was submitting to the State Prosecutor's Office false reports about pressure on witnesses in the investigation against him.

The ministry said the police would protect everyone who gave important information for the trial in case they were threatened or put under pressure.
