ZAGREB, July 22 (Hina) - The Croatian Telecommunications Agency (HAT) Council has okayed terms and conditions for offering free of charge a service of limiting telephone bills up to 500 kuna, the HAT recently reported.

The regulatory body introduced this step as a measure to prevent illegal diallers that search for security holes on the user's computer and dial up through the user's number, pocketing the additional money for themselves.

The approval for offering a possibility of setting a monthly limit of 500 kuna on telephone bills was given also by the council of users of telecommunications services. This council is an advisory body of the above-mentioned agency.

As a result, the Croatian Telekom (HT) company, which is a provider of the basic telecommunications services, will have to offer the free of charge service of setting the said monthly limit on telephone bills.

This service will be activated at the request of telephone subscribers.
