At a hearing on Thursday, the Sarajevo Cantonal Court said that the witnesses called and evidence offered by the prosecution did not prove beyond reasonable doubt the existence of conspiracy to incite to murder, as alleged by the prosecution.
The indictment said that Alispahic and the other accused, acting on orders from the Bosnian political leadership, organised an attempt on Abdic's life because his activities were seen as being contrary to the interests of the Bosnian government at the time.
The other accused were Irfan Ljevakovic and Enver Mujezinovic, former senior officials of the Ministry of the Interior, Edhem Veladzic, former interior minister of the Una-Sana Canton, and Ejub Ikic, former chief of police in the northwestern town of Bihac.
