ZAGREB, June 29 (Hina) - The majority of clubs of deputies
endorsed a bill on arms on Thursday, but said it did not settle the issue of
illegal possession and use of arms given that statistics show that 90-95 per
cent of all criminal acts are committed by illegal firearms. They
suggested that the Interior Ministry, which moved the bill, propose harsher
penalties for illegal possession and use of arms.
Also today, the majority of clubs of deputies criticised draft
amendments to the Law on the Croatian National Bank (HNB), notably the Party of
Rights (HSP), which pointed the finger at the central bank for major
oversights in the monetary policy and its leaders for incompetence.
