The daily wrote on Wednesday that Tadic in Zagreb on Tuesday offered Mesic "a deal about the division of Bosnia", saying that the situation was "very complicated" which was why Bosnia needed to be reorganised into "a federation with three units". According to the same source, the Croatian president has "firmly dismissed" this proposal.
Mesic's office said in the statement issued following a number of questions from reporters and several diplomatic representatives of foreign countries accredited in Croatia, that this was "a malicious and entirely unfounded interpretation".
"The talks never focused on internal matters of any country, including Bosnia-Herzegovina," the statement said.
The President's Office said it was perfidious to say that the Serbian president has plans to negotiate about Bosnia's division.
