VUKOVAR, June 25 (Hina) - President Stjepan Mesic said at Ovcara
farm outside Vukovar on Sunday there were many culprits for the 1991 mass
killing committed there, from those who committed it to those who ordered it,
and reproached the international community for not securing the evacuation of
Vukovar's general hospital. Mesic told the press that all those who
committed and ordered the crime at Ovcara must be held to account.
He reproached the international community for not taking over the
hospital in the eastern town in 1991 and for not defending the wounded and the
staff.
The remains of 200 people were exhumed from a mass grave at Ovcara.
They belonged to wounded soldiers and civilians who were evacuated from
Vukovar's general hospital after the former Yugoslav army and Serb
paramilitaries entered the town on 18 November 1991, killing them at the farm
two days later.
