Stressing that Croatia and the Netherlands had no outstanding issues, Mesic thanked the Netherlands on its assistance and donations during and after the Homeland War, the statement said.
Mesic also said Croatia was not only adopting but also implementing laws and standards that are in accordance wit the EU legislation.
He informed the Swedish official of the current state of affairs in the region and Croatia's relations with the neighbouring countries. He also announced that Serbian president Boris Tadic would soon visit Croatia.
PM Balkenende agreed with Croatia's positions regarding the region and the process of joining the EU, the statement said.
He stressed the Netherlands would continue to support efforts Croatia and other countries in the region were making on their path to the EU.
