ZAGREB, June 12 (Hina) - The Croatian Minister of the Economy, Labour and Entrepreneurship, Branko Vukelic, met Turkey's Minister of Industry and Trade, Ali Coskun, in Zagreb on Monday to discuss ways of promoting economic ties.

The two sides expressed interest in cooperation in road infrastructure and energy projects, military industry, car-part production, machine-tool manufacturing, and particularly in the tourist sector.

Trade between the two countries currently stands at about USD350 million, with Croatian exports accounting for a mere USD80 million, which Vukelic said was insufficient considering the size of the Turkish market.

The two ministers met as part of a two-day visit by a Turkish business delegation, who have arrived to attend the fourth session of the Croatian-Turkish Economic Committee.

Later today the Turkish delegation, comprising some 140 business people, is scheduled to attend a meeting of the Croatian-Turkish Business Council, which will also be attended by the prime ministers of the two countries.

Vukelic announced that a treaty on social insurance, regulating the rights of Croatian and Turkish workers, would be signed later today in the presence of the two prime ministers.

Coskun said that a large Turkish business delegation would attend this year's International Autumn Trade Fair in Zagreb and that an exhibition of Turkish products was planned for December.

The Turkish minister also said that he and Vukelic discussed participation a Croatian business delegation in a similar trade fair that takes place in Izmir in September.
