The caucus said in a statement that such statements tarnished not only the reputation of the Serbian parliament, but also the efforts of Serbs in areas where they live as a minority.
The statement said the hate speech against Dulic-Markovic disrupted the efforts of the SDSS and other democratic parties in the Croatian parliament to isolate and condemn the hate speech they encountered in Croatia. The party said such cases should meet with vehement political reaction as well as be legally punished.
"We are confident that such messages will not obstruct the election of Minister Dulic-Markovic to the post of Serbian deputy prime minister. We support her for persisting with her patriotism in the Republic of Serbia despite gestures of hatred towards her Croatian origins," read the statement.
