How can one believe that the announced investments projects are serious when the government has no money to pay minimum wages to workers in state companies, the SSSH said in a press release.
Last year, trade unions which make up the SSSH proposed a set of measures to restructure the Croatian industry, but there has been no response or headway. There are certainly no funds for new projects, as a majority of the ongoing projects have been stopped, the trade union federation said.
Zdenko Mucnjak, a representative of another trade union federation, HUS, said on Friday that he would like to believe that a larger part of the government's plans would be implemented, despite the fact that some of its previous plans had not been carried out successfully.
The problem of high unemployment can be solved only by launching new investments and I am glad to see that the government has shifted its focus to that problem, Mucnjak said.
