The delegation, led by Navy Commander Rear Admiral Hamdi Swheli, visited Croatia on the occasion of the launching of two ships, which the Adria-Mar company built for the Libyan Coast Guard. Contracts were signed for the building of another four ships.
Mesic and Swheli said Croatian-Libyan relations were good, but that economic cooperation should be intensified.
Mesic underlined Croatia's great possibilities in building and overhauling ships. The Libyan delegation agreed cooperation in shipbuilding was good and estimated that the possibility of significantly expanding economic cooperation was very likely.
The Croatian president voiced hope that future economic projects would further strengthen ties between the two friendly countries.
