The Supreme Court confirmed receipt of the request, but did not specify when a decision on the request would be made.
"The President of the Supreme Court will, after assessing grounds for a change of territorial jurisdiction, decide on the request within the shortest time possible," the court said in a statement.
The Chief Public Prosecutor made the same request for Krunoslav Fehir, a former member of the First Osijek Battalion which was under Glavas's command in 1991.
Fehir has publicly spoken of Glavas's alleged involvement in the murders of Serb civilians and admitted shooting one of the prisoners.
The Chief Public Prosecutor gave no explanation for the request for change of territorial jurisdiction in the Glavas case. According to media speculation, the main reason is witness protection, or rather the danger of witnesses being tampered with in Osijek.
Glavas was stripped of parliamentary immunity on Wednesday evening after a five-hour debate in Parliament in which he rejected the charges and insisted that criminal proceedings against him were politically motivated.
