SARAJEVO, May 5 (Hina) - The Hague war crimes tribunal's Chief Prosecutor Carla del Ponte said on Friday that a search of the Belgrade home of the indicted Bosnian Serb wartime military commander Ratko Mladic's son, conducted by Serbian police earlier in the day, was just a show for the public.

They searched that house two weeks ago. Hardly anything new could be found there. It was just a show for the public, del Ponte told reporters in Sarajevo after meeting the international community's High Representative to Bosnia-Herzegovina, Christian Schwarz-Schilling.

Del Ponte described the Mladic case as a great disappointment, saying that it was an example of unfulfilled promises made by Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica.

The Chief Prosecutor reaffirmed her intention to have Mladic arrested and transferred to The Hague, stressing that it was her priority.

I am fully focused on Mladic now. As soon as he is in The Hague, the priority will be Radovan Karadzic, she said, adding that she discussed the efforts to arrest the Bosnian Serb wartime leader with EUFOR and NATO commanders in Sarajevo.

I have absolutely no information whether Karadzic is in Republika Srpska (the Serb entity in Bosnia-Herzegovina), Montenegro or Serbia, del Ponte said, noting that she expected NATO to be more active. She added that it would also be helpful to know if Karadzic was not hiding in the region, so she could direct her attention elsewhere.

Schwarz-Schilling said that everything should be done to avoid Bosnia-Herzegovina getting into a situation in which Serbia is now because of its failure to fully cooperate with the Hague tribunal.

He added that he was ready to use all his powers to ensure Bosnia-Herzegovina's full cooperation with the tribunal.
