PODGORICA, March 19 (Hina) - There is nothing disputable about the
decision of the Supreme Defence Council (VSO) to give Montenegrin President
Filip Vujanovic the right to command the Montenegrin army until the completion
of the referendum on independence, Montenegrin Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic
said on Saturday. The VSO has done its duty and left to Montenegrin
state institutions to command the army for several months before the
referendum, Djukanovic said.
The response from Belgrade is not surprising but is regretfully part of
Serbia's long tradition of bad relations with its neighbours, Djukanovic
said.
The Serbian government has opposed the decision adopted by the VSO on
Thursday, asking Serbia and Montenegro President Svetozar Marovic for an
additional explanation.
Marovic said that the VSO had acted in line with the Constitution.
