SARAJEVO, March 8 (Hina) - The European Commission has donated a
modern telephone and electronic communication tapping system to
Bosnia-Herzegovina to help the local police in fighting crime, European Union
Police Mission (EUPM) Commissioner Vincenzo Coppola told Sarajevo-based daily
Oslobodjenje of Wednesday. Italian Carabinieri General said the
system will enable the local police to intercept communications on the entire
territory of Bosnia-Herzegovina.
The new technology is allegedly worth over EUR1 million, but the
European Commission did not confirm this, saying this was a classified
information.
