The main changes concern the statement of facts of the crime, and the period of time in which the alleged crime was committed, which was limited to "from June to the beginning of September 1992" as opposed to "from March to September 1992" as was stated in the initial indictment.
The amended indictment further says that the alleged crime was committed "during an armed conflict between the Croatian army and members of the so-called JNA (Yugoslav People's Army) and Serb paramilitary forces".
The indictment was amended following an instruction from the Supreme Court, which had found it to be "flawed and imprecise".
Presiding Judge Spomenka Tonkovic granted a motion by the defence for a five-day break to prepare its case.
The trial was set to resume on 20 February, when the defence and the accused would declare their views on the amended indictment.
