In the statement that was sent to the media in Sarajevo, Terzic said he understood the anger caused by the ridiculing of Muslim religious feelings, but also resolutely opposed the violent demonstration of such feelings.
"The burning of flags is not and cannot be the response of citizens of Bosnia-Herzegovina to insults coming from some centres," reads the statement issued after copies of the Croatian, Danish, Norwegian and French flags were burned during a protest rally of a group of Muslims in Sarajevo today.
"I particularly regret the fact that the protests were directed against the symbols of the Republic of Croatia, because the Croatian Government and Parliament, unlike those in some other European countries, have promptly and appropriately condemned the publication of the insulting cartoons in Croatia," Terzic said in the statement.
