Bobutac said that Croatia and Moldova had good political relations, but that they should promote parliamentary cooperation.
Moldova attaches great importance to Croatia's experience in adjusting its legislation to that of the European Union, because Moldova sees its future in the EU and wants to open membership talks as soon as possible, the ambassador said.
Moldova supports Croatia in its efforts to join the EU as soon as possible, as well as its candidacy for non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council. On the other hand, it expects Croatia's support for its bid to become a member of the UN Economic and Social Council for the 2008-2010 period, he added.
Bobutac also highlighted the importance of cooperation in tourism.
Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader is due to visit Moldova soon, when an agreement on cooperation in tourism could be signed.
Markov said that there were no obstacles to the agreement being signed, adding that the two countries should enhance overall economic cooperation, because the volume of trade currently stands at less than USD10 million.
Jandrokovic said that the two countries could intensify their ties by admitting Moldova into an expanded Central European Free Trade Agreement, as proposed by Sanader.
